We are privileged to welcome Professor Tim Underwood as keynote speaker for our Autumn Conference. Professor Underwood divides his time between treating patients in hospital and carrying out research in the lab, leading a team who examine oesophageal tumours in incredible detail in a bid to discover what causes them to grow. By studying their complete genetic makeup and understanding how cancerous and non-cancerous cells work together to help tumours grow and develop, he hopes to find new ways to treat the disease.

Mairead McAloon has been an Occupational Therapist with the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre for 10 years and is involved with the Macmillan Multi-Disciplinary Team fatigue programme. She will be chatting to us about managing cancer-related fatigue.

We will be updating you on recent exciting awareness and fundraising activities, including the fantastic results of our ‘Oesophacycle’ event held over the summer. We will also be telling you about our Charity Table Quiz to be held at the Wellington Park Hotel on Friday 20th October at 8pm. Any offers of ballot prizes for the quiz shall be very gratefully accepted.

As ever, there will be plenty of time for a chat over tea or coffee, and a question & answer session.
