Cancer clinical trials are coordinated by the Northern Ireland Cancer Trials Centre (NICTC) and the Northern Ireland Clinical Trials Network (NICTN) based at the Cancer Centre.

Clinical trials are medical research trials involving patients and they let the staff in the Cancer Centre find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. All current treatments have been through clinical trials and the clinical trails being carried out today could become treatment in the future.
