The results from the second Northern Ireland Cancer Patient Experience Survey (CPES), developed in partnership by Macmillan Cancer Support, the Public Health Agency (PHA), the Health and Social Care Board and all five Health and Social Care Trusts, were launched in January 2019.
Around 6,000 people in Northern Ireland, diagnosed with cancer and discharged from hospital between May and October 2017, received a survey asking for their views about the care they received during treatment. Approximately 3,500 responded and provided valuable feedback.
The NI Cancer Patient Experience Survey report provides a wealth of data and will help to shape the future direction of cancer services in Northern Ireland. The report launched provides a regional perspective. Alongside this, a local report has been produced for each Trust, comparing individual Trusts’ results to other Trusts and to the regional scores for Northern Ireland. There is detailed survey data – including response data broken down by cancer type and different demographic and clinical variables.
