Lorna is PHA Nurse Consultant for Cancer. As part of the NICaN management team Lorna is part of the Cancer Commissioning group, the NICaN Nurse Leaders Reference Group and connects across the Clinical Nurse Specialist Forums.

NICaN Nurse Leaders Reference Group (NLRG)
Within NICaN there is a single Nurse Leaders Group. Core membership consists of representation from each Health and Social Care Trust (HSCT) and NICaN. NICaN NLRG is the main source of clinical advice on all matters relating to nursing. They ensure co-ordination of nursing interventions across the cancer pathway, promote consistency of clinical practice to achieve the best possible outcomes and experience for patients, irrespective of where their treatment and care is provided.
Their workplan includes:
- Service planning and delivery
- Service improvement
- Service monitoring including clinical performance and outcomes
- Workforce and Education development
- Research & audit
