The Farming Community Network (FCN)

The Farming Community Network is working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to deliver the Rural Communities Cancer Project — an initiative focused on reducing barriers faced by rural, farming and migrant worker communities in accessing cancer care and support.
As part of this work, our #NipItInTheBud campaign encourages earlier cancer diagnosis across rural communities by raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer and the importance of seeking help early.
In Northern Ireland, we provide:
- Cancer awareness training and presentations
- Support and resources for rural communities
- Connections and signposting to local support services for anyone affected by cancer in rural areas
We are also gathering stories and experiences from people within rural communities about their experiences of cancer care and support. These insights will help us better understand the challenges faced and improve future support services.
Further information about cancer and the support available can be found through The Farming Community Network website or call our helpline on 03000 111 999.
You can also sign up to our Northern Ireland newsletter for information on upcoming events, training and support available in your area.
