14/10/2026

Queen’s University Belfast warmly invites people affected by cancer, their families, healthcare professionals, support organisations and members of the public to attend “Addressing ‘Financial Toxicity’: Managing the Financial Impact of Cancer.”

Taking place as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, this welcoming, in-person event will explore the financial strain that can accompany a cancer diagnosis.

Led by Queen’s University Belfast researchers working on the GIFT Project, the session will highlight emerging research into financial toxicity and create space for open and respectful discussion. The event will include a panel of experts and lived-experience representatives, followed by small-group conversations where attendees can:

  • Share experiences and insights
  • Learn about available support
  • Connect with others
  • Contribute to research aimed at improving outcomes for individuals and families affected by cancer
